Well F@#k:
Some of my fondest memories are of my family and me, eating dinner in front of the TV as we went on every blockbuster, b-movie, sci-fi adventure we could find at our local video store. We would all pick our own movie and we’d shuffle them night to night. Some might say an unhealthy way to grow up, but what’s done is done and I’m here.*
As I grew into myself, I would eventually become a Thespian in high school, a Dropout during community college and a budding Filmmaker as I studied at a filmschool in California. Now, I find myself navigating the world struggling to define myself as an Artist.
In the entertainment world, I started working as a Projectionist for my local Pacific Theater during my final years in High School. Post a Bachelors of Science in Video Production and Filmmaking from The Art Institute. I worked around many areas, learning from everything. My mantra as a Director states, “if I asked someone to do something, I should have some knowledge of what I am asking them to do. Therefore, I should always be learning.” I started my way as Camera Tech for Bexel, Jib Tech for Camera Support and then for 6 years, I worked my way up from Intern to Creative Content Manager at Dick Clark Productions. There I ideated, created and made real, hundreds if not thousands of pieces of content across all of the big social medias, all while maintaining each show’s brand as their own identity. I created digital campaigns for American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Golden Globes, Academy of Country Music Awards and many more. All while working in conjunction with sponsors such as T-Mobile, Samsung, and GoPro to make sure the brand did not get lost in the show’s campaign.
After leaving DCP at the end of 2019, I began my journey into the freelance world, pushing myself back into filmmaking and shifting my perspective and views yet again. I’ve been working my way up ever since, as an AD and Producer, until I make the chance to call myself a (full-time) Director.
Current Projects:
“Facing Failure” - A podcast I’m producing and hosting about everyday, big and small, Failures. I feel the word “failure,” is so stigmatized and this causes a lot of people to spiral just thinking about it. So, why don’t we talk more about our divorce, not getting the promotion or any and all things we might view as a failure?
The Runners - Feature I’m writing to direct, about a group of five kids, running from middle America small town to small town, 11 years into a post apocalypse where creatures are the dominant species on Earth. (Think Goonies meets A Quiet Place-ish)
The Golden Idol - Personal short film I’m developing as a calling card for myself as a director. A group of thieves break into a penthouse to steal a Golden Idol. Only heists never go as planned. (Written like a Guy Ritchie film, but instead of adding cops to the mix, we add superheroes.)
*Minus the “It” mini-series which I saw way too young. “F” you dad. Forever horrified of shower drains
